Why HeartKids are so important to our family
You may be wondering why Heartkids is so close to our hearts and why it is important for us to give back to this wonderful community.
The answer is simple our family is part of these statics. Myself (Tegan; co-owner) was born with CHD which compromised 4 defects of the heart;
- Single Ventricle of the left kind
- Dextrocardia
- Pulmonary Stenosis
- ASD
At the age of 4 I underwent a Fontan surgery in order to mend my broken heart. It has not always been an easy road living with CHD and being a mother daughter duo we understand the physical, mental and financial burdens of CHD from a parent and child point of view. We feel extremely lucky to be where we are today and ultimately understand the importance support is for families at all stages of their journeys
